  3. LAN Scheduler & Distribution (LANSD) gives the network administrator
  4. unprecedented power and control over software distribution, event
  5. scheduling and virus protection.

  15. =========================== LANSD Features ===========================

  17. LANSD manages all activity through the Network Console desktop,
  18. providing effortless control over several or hundreds of PCs.
  19. Workstations can be organized into groups for easy sharing of LANSD
  20. profiles.  Up to 100 groups can be defined per network.
  21.  
  22. Painless software distribution
  23. ------------------------------
  24. Software distribution installs and maintains files from the network to
  25. the workstation or from network to network.  Up to 100 software titles
  26. can be distributed and maintained to each workstation group.  Software
  27. titles can have up to 2000 files associated with them.  Full control
  28. over file attributes and update conditions is provided.  A central log
  29. file displays the distribution progress.

  31. Powerful network-wide scheduling
  32. --------------------------------
  33. Each workstation group can run up to 100 scheduled events, including
  34. hard drive backups and virus scans, and one-time network messages.
  35. Schedules are centrally defined to run during workstation bootup,
  36. network login, or in the background when MS-Windows is started.  In
  37. addition to secure network-wide schedules, each local user can define
  38. their own private events.  LANSD manages the details for you, copying
  39. required scheduler files and maintaining each workstation's
  40. AUTOEXEC.BAT and WIN.INI files.  It can automatically install and
  41. maintain itself on all workstations in a group.

  43. It works with your system
  44. -------------------------
  45. LANSD has been designed to work with all networks that support a DOS
  46. client.  A shared directory on the file server stores all
  47. configuration files.  During network login, the LANAGENT program
  48. carries out the settings defined in the LANSD Network Console.  No
  49. TSRs are required by the system.  And by swapping to disk or high
  50. memory, even the largest programs can be run as a scheduled event.

  52. Besides supporting all network operating systems, LANSD is supplied
  53. with identical DOS and Windows versions, making it ideal for all your
  54. users.  Full context-sensitive help, with step-by-step examples, is
  55. also provided.
